A little Inspiration To Keep It Real n Keepin’ It Natural…6 Comments

Oh how I wish I could say this song was perfect for me…I wear weaves, wigs and braids with the best of us. I love the idea that being more natural is becoming appealing. Celebs like Solange (Beyonce’s younger sister) are certainly adding to the natural afro appeal. It so much more less hassle and stress free having it natural plus it’s less damaging to our hair. I always worry what all that tugging and pulling and chemical exposure will lead to when I’m a much older women with grey hair. I guess if I don’t watch it, it’ll all fall out!

Check out this video from Dead Presidents dedicated to Mother’s Day and keeping it as real as we can. I’m a little more tempted to check out those natural styles after listening to this track.

Ever tempted to grow out the perm or take out the weave? P.S…this does not include weaves, braids, wigs or anything that looks similar to natural lookin’ hair ‘wink wink’.

Heya @ mother…am not gonna lie takin care of o-natural hair is defo a big commitment but once you get the right products that work for your hair you’ll be so happy for it. Even if you decide not to wear it natural all the time it’s good to give it as much TLC as poss so if you do decide to wear it natural it’s easier. I myself have really annoying brittle natrual hair and isn’t chemically treated so as you can imagine, even more work. Aside from figuring out what best suits your hair as missy says try the organic products and steam at least minimum once amonth. I use mostly Motions products. I’ve used plenty of different ranges and this is the one that gives instant softness to the hair, even the really expensive stuff hasn’t done much for my hair so it really is the one that suits you hair to be honest. Try the motions shamp and conditioner first to see if it makes a diff. I’ll be doing a TT&R on this shortly as I know what it’s like not knowing what products to best use! Hope this helps in the mean time!

Going natural was one of the best decisions I ever made…One of the best tips you can have is when you are natural, never comb your hair when its dry only when its wet and you have a leave in conditioner, trust me your hair would be so soft. Going natural also made me start using natural products, so I read labels when I go to the hair store. If it helps, there are so many naturals that post videos of styles and how to take care of your hair on youtube. That was my saving grace…
