Beyonce With Darker Skin – Insult or Art?

Posted on 28 Feb 2011 at 6:40pm

Both the story and the amazing pictures that follow caught my eye for two reasons. Beyonce looking amazing in beautiful Nigerian  attire and Beyonce with a darker complexion.  I caught this story a while back but I had to get you guys thoughts on this one. I’m sure Beyonce wasn’t expecting such backlash when she decided to model for the cover  of  the French magazines L’Officiel Paris 90th anniversary. An honour for her, I’m sure. The honour seems to come at the price and now the pictures have been branded insulting and offensive by many blog sites and print media.

Posted on 28 Feb 2011 at 5:40am

Life is full of secrets and tricks, knowing much of these would determine to a greater extent your success. These are not magical concepts but secrets and tricks derived from the experiences and achievements of many.

I know you have once looked at things and wondered why you are still not achieving the best for your life. You have the desire for success and yet you are being held back by unascertained force.

Those at the peak of the success ladder and achieving all the greatness in life are not more human than you. In fact, you are smart, hard working and forceful than majority of them. What is the problem with you and you only then?

Did I say a problem? You do have any problem at all. You are simply failing to understand and implement the various tricks and secrets of life. You know so much about yourself, you know who are and your abilities in life but you are still being held far away from achieving anything prominent.

Something is obviously holding you back and until you acknowledge and deal with this, you will soon give up as a result of depression springing from the continuous hard work breeding nothing syndrome you find yourself in. (more…)

There are stages in mankind’s journey through life when we start to doubt our ability and the likelihood that we will ever attain the great success we seek and desire.

Sex & Relationship: Reasons Why You Are Not Married

Posted on 20 Feb 2011 at 3:22pm

Geez!,  I just read the below and it made me freeze! So true and I can relate to a lot. I have decided to share it with you, so give it a go now…

You’ve never dreamt of an aqua-blue ring box.

Then, something happened. Another birthday, maybe. A breakup. Your brother’s wedding. His wife-elect asked you to be a bridesmaid, and suddenly there you were, wondering how in hell you came to be 36-years-old, walking down the aisle wearing something halfway decent from J. Crew that you could totally repurpose with a cute pair of boots and a jean jacket. (more…)

The Grammys: The Best, The Worst and The Men….You Decide.

Posted on 17 Feb 2011 at 9:57am

If I don’t get to watch the grammy’s the one thing I can’t miss is the style and glamour. They’re dresses I could only dream of owning with our celebs draped in the finest designers.

Although I have to say over years 53 years that the grammys have been in full swing the show has almost turned into who can dress the worst to get the best attention! The usual suspects are always there making sure they don’t disappoint us! I have to say Mya’s is my absolute favourite, the dress, the accessory’s and hair, it’s all on point. Not feeling Beyonce’s outfit though, too much skin not enough glamour.

In my hunt to share with you the best and worst dressed, I couldn’t forget the dudes! What do you think of this year’s style at the 53rd Grammy’s award.

Valentine’s Day Every Day of The Year!

Posted on 08 Feb 2011 at 8:34pm

I don’t mind taking a day off to celebrate the independence of my country, some days off to celebrate religious holidays. So I am pretty much alright with most of the holidays around the year and look forward to most of them. If I am to pick any of my favourite celebrations then it is definitely Christmas, despite the weather being unfavourable.

My relationship with Christmas is very personal time for me, where I enjoy dinner with friends and love ones. If I’m to pick the least celebrated season every year then it will be 14th of February, the so called Valentine’s Day.

Do not get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind going for dinner at the restaurant with the one I love,or receiving all those romantic presents. Oh I do enjoy getting special attention, my issues is just that it should be everyday. Who wouldn’t want that? Getting special attention on Valentine’s Day will make me feel like I’m forcing myself to get all these treats and that wouldn’t make it real.

I couldn’t prevent myself from noticing a sign “Valentine’s Day coming soon! Book now”. This was two weeks ago and all I could ask myself was whether it has now become a compulsory task to take your love one to dinner on valentines day, or get the sexiest lingerie?

Valentine’s Day in my personal opinion has been enforced into our culture. Why it is celebrated by millions of people is a question I even refuse to ask myself and the rest of the world. This is the time of the year where loved ones, especially husbands and boyfriends are set on a test without them even being aware of it.

Those who have been in a long term relationship expect their boyfriends to propose. Husbands are expected to get sexy, red lingerie, make dinner or do anything that declares the love they have for their wives. It is the time of love but also moments of break-ups and even divorce if one is not lucky.

All these things just have to happen on one particular day. I have come to understand that a good relationship is about true love, tolerance and honesty. I am pretty much sure that a man proposing to his long time girlfriend does not make the relationship any special than it already is. It does make it sound romantic and probably interesting when telling your friends you got proposed to on Valentine’s Day. But does it have to be that expensive to declare love to the person you adore, I mean true love? And must it only be on the 14th of February?

It’s strange because we all know that Valentine’s Day is yet another celebration around the year to milk money from poor innocent people, yet every year we still get trapped in on the circus of chocolates, roses, flowers, teddy and red negligee. I’m the kinda girl who wants to get all this more than just once a year out of duty, but that’s just me!
